After this is done, I will conduct a small interview of sorts, so I may get to know you. I will then review your interview with the other 2 people who have access to the translation tool, and we will decide if you can have access to it. If we decide you can have access to it, you will be added to the voting pool and can then decide the "fate" of other people who may want access to the tool.

Things to consider before wanting to help:

- You should have at least a basic knowledge of HTML. That is a must as there will be HTML elements in the translation process. (Yes, you will be tested.)
- You must have excellent knowledge of the English language, and of course, Dutch.
- You must be very familiar with LiveJournal and be very comfortable with using it and know where to locate things.

If you do not meet the afformentioned qualifications, then, you can simply help out by pointing out errors in the translation teams efforts.

Now, with that said, I welcome anyone to help out with the active translation effort.

Ok, I've added you to my MSN list.
Now we'll just have to wait till we're both online. (I don't have ADSL yet, so I'm not online full time).

If you wish to check out my knowledge of HTML and such beforehand, checkout my journal (created the style myself) and my homepage:

Just a few suggestions

(Permanent Link)

I am strictly basing this on what looks neat and clean, standards of the usual software localization. Unfortunately I was forced to do this job for a few months. So I admire the effort you guys are putting in.

I am by no means saying that the current translations are incorrect...well aside from "communities", perhaps we have stumbled on a fab idea for a new dutch word.

Here are a few suggestions.

Doorzoek LJ = Zoeken LJ

Schrijf een journal bericht = Nieuw bericht

Maak een journal = hmmmmm Nieuw dagboek???

Bij communitie (huh?) = Op gemeenschap

Heb je een vraag = Vragen....of ondersteuning

Wachtwoord vergeten = Wachtwoord?

Ontwikkelgebied = Ontwikkeling

Wat biedt onze service = Service

In any case, I suggest you make it short but sweet. Less is more, and the usual bla bla. Stick to one or two words for translations as much as possible.

The goal is not to give a direct translation of what used to be English. Goal is to make the website user friendly for non-English speakers/or people that prefer to work in the Dutch language. Those people would give a rats ass if the translation is correct, they want to have a good keyword and understanding what the buzz word is for.
