tundratribal now has access to the tool, so, if you're finished any translations, then, ship'em to him also.

Just so you also know, you don't need my help to find an assignment.

Just go here: http://www.livejournal.com/translate/

Select Dutch, find a section to translate, translate it, then e-mail it to me or tundra, and make sure you include the page and section number ID.

Also, remember to not change whats inside of the %lt and > signs and the [[ ]] symbols.

So, if its: Hello, [[username]]!

Then just change the Hello aspect of it. Do not translate the username part.

Anyway, if you have any questions, contact either tundratribal or myself.

Already quite some time ago I tried to contact people to offer my help with the translation of livejournal content into dutch. I posted in a support community before but no one there could help me. I see you found the way now.
Could you explain me how it works? I mean, I know the translation part, but what's next?

Just go to the URL I gave in my post, find a section (Preferably the larger sections since that'll keep you busy), translate it, taking care not to alter whats inside of the HTML/BML tags, just the English parts, then e-mail your translation along with the section ID to either tundra or myself.

I put the translations in the tool and save it so it reflects on the site.

I also will read it to make sure that HTML/BML tags are intact and that the translation makes sense.

Do the translated parts show up on the livejournal site then? Will they after the translation? Or does something have to be done then still by the livejournal team or something?
Just curious:) since I never actually seen any translations on the livejournalsite.

I will look into some parts and see if I can translate some. Haven't been behind the pc much lately so did not get to do so yet. I am going back home this weekend and start working again on monday, so I am sure I will have more time for it then hah. (am on a holiday back in the US right now)

Thats cuz you need to set your language settings to use the new translations, and yes, once tundra or myself plug the values of your translation in, its pretty much automatic.

hi, i was sent here by insomnia

there are some errors in the translation (i am sure you have already seen them, but i guess i'd mention them anyways)

*vriendin should be "vrienden" (vriendin means girlfriend)
*herrineringen is spelled herinneringen
*Bij Communitie
god knows what that is supposed to mean ;)
i suggest you use the word groepen or just communities.

i am too busy to help myself, but goodluck on the translation.
